From a historical and cultural standpoint, the commune lies within the Albigeois, a natural agricultural region corresponding to the surroundings of the town of Albi. Exposed to an altered oceanic climate, it is drained by the Tarn, the ruisseau de Rassalens, the ruisseau de Sarlan and by various other small watercourses.
