A little history
The surroundings of Toulouse were occupied as early as the Lower Palaeolithic, but only traces of human occupation from the Neolithic period have been found, in the form of villages such as at Villeneuve-Tolosane. Other traces of human occupation from the 8th century BC and the 7th century BC have been found, as evidenced by the necropolis in the Saint-Roch district (near the rue du Feretra), uncovered in 2002.
