A little history
A town created during Antiquity, it was the stronghold of the Trencavel lords in the Middle Ages and then of Catharism. It became an episcopal city from the 13th century onwards. It was during the Renaissance that the town grew prosperous thanks to the cultivation of pastel. Several hôtels particuliers remain as witnesses to this period.
