Villepinte is a French commune, situated in the north-west of the département of Aude in the région of Occitanie. From a historical and cultural standpoint, the commune is part of the Lauragais, the former « Pays de Cocagne », linked both to the cultivation of pastel and to the abundance of its produce, and to the « grenier à blé du Languedoc ». Exposed to a Mediterranean climate, it is drained by the canal du Midi, the Fresquel, the ruisseau de Tréboul, the ruisseau de Mézeran and by various other small watercourses.
