A little history
Veigy was populated from the arrival of the first humans in the Bas-Chablais. Several flint tools were indeed found there and are on display in Genève. Veigy lies within the territory of the Allobroges, who were subsequently defeated and occupied by the Romans. This was a golden period for the whole of the Chablais as well, since trade was greatly simplified. During this period Veigy was the site of a Roman estate on the road heading towards Genève. Veigy was thereafter part of the Frankish Empire and then the duchy of Savoie.
