Localisée au sud-ouest du département, la commune fait partie de la petite région agricole « les Plateaux bocagers de la Touraine méridionale », regroupant des milieux très hétérogènes, plateau dénudé de Pontlevoy, vallée du Cher bordée de coteaux de vignes et aspects de gatine au-delà. Elle est drainée par la Rère, les Lacs Plats, le Rouaire, les Forges, les Gaz, le Saint Joseph et par divers petits cours d'eau.
