A little history
Since the early 2010s, archaeological excavations conducted by the Institut national de recherches archéologiques préventives (INRAP) have shown that Blois-Vienne was occupied by hunter-gatherers as early as 6,000 years before our era (that is, 8,000 years ago). Fish traps were also found there, indicating that these communities could, in addition to farming and livestock rearing, fish. Other excavations revealed the presence of Gauls from the Carnute tribe as early as the 4th century before our era, also in Vienne. Other villages appeared to have already existed even before the arrival of the Romans, such as Camboritu (in Gaulish, meaning "ford of the meander").

Selling in Blois
Pricing in Blois starts by placing your property inside the €1,376 to €2,210 band rather than on the median alone. The median describes the middle of the market; condition, floor, outdoor space and energy rating decide where in the band you sit.
With 630 sales a year, Blois absorbs correctly priced properties. An over-ambitious price shows quickly, because buyers have points of comparison.
Briveo values your Blois property from the same DVF file, keeping only sales of comparable properties closest to your address, free of charge and with no obligation, then supports the sale through to the deed.
Buying in Blois
Reading the €1,376 to €2,210 band is a buyer’s main tool in Blois. A property at the bottom is not a bargain and one at the top is not a rip-off, the band measures how different the properties are, not how well they are priced.
Acquisition costs are budgeted on top of the price, around 8 % on an existing property, around 3 % on a new one. These are orders of magnitude; the notary computes the exact amount.
Prices moving down give a buyer room to discuss, provided the argument rests on comparable sales rather than on the trend itself.

Start with BriveoHow the Blois market is moving
Over the last twelve published months the median apartment price moved by -6 %. A drop of that size deserves the same caution as a rise, since it may come from the mix of properties sold rather than from a fall in value.
No five-year reading is available for Blois. The apartment sales we currently use (2023 à 2025) do not go back far enough to compute one, so the long-term direction cannot be stated here.
Among the towns tracked by BRIVEO in the same department, on the median apartment price, Salbris sits 42 % below and Vineuil 24 % above. Those are the gaps a buyer widening their search area actually meets.
