Saint-Félix is a French commune situated in the département of Haute-Savoie, in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It is part of the pays de l'Albanais and the canton d'Alby-sur-Chéran. Its inhabitants are known as the Saint-Félixiens and the Saint-Félixiennes.
A little history
The work of geologists has taught us that at the end of the great upheavals that raised the chain of the Alps, a period of intense cooling occurred which brought about the glacial period. The glaciers of the Alps covered all the surrounding country and extended even beyond Lyon. The erratic granite blocks still found in several places within the commune attest that the land occupied by Saint-Félix was once covered by glaciers which carried these blocks of rock from very far away. This land was formed from glacial muds and the arable soil of the fields.
