A little history
Section drawn from la France illustrée, tome III, by Victor Adolphe Malte-Brun (1882). La Fontaine Bouillon. The recommissioning of the thermal spring in 1697 led to the discovery of an ancient site. The presence of numerous pieces of wood was observed, along with more than two hundred statues made of the same material, each more than three metres in length. They were laid on beds of planks and some represented helmeted warriors armed with lances or figures dressed in long robes. Coins of Caesar, Augustus, Nero, Vespasian and Trajan were found there.
