Riscle (Riscla in Gascon) is a French commune situated in the département of Gers, in the région of Occitanie. It was created on 1 January 2019, under the legal framework of communes nouvelles, by the merger of the communes of Riscle and Cannet, which became communes déléguées.
A little history
The history of Riscle dates back to the 9th century, when the first church was built at La Roque. The feudal town gathered around it, along with the château. Later, after the 11th century, Riscle had a hospital, a convent and five churches. The town was entered through six gates.
