Puyvalador (Catalan, Puigbalador) is a French commune situated in the west of the département of Pyrénées-Orientales in the Occitanie region. From a historical and cultural standpoint, the commune lies in the pays du Capcir, a high plateau formed by an ancient glacial basin enclosed between the granite massifs of Carlit and Madrès. Exposed to a mountain climate, it is drained by the Aude, the Galba, the Rec del Cirerol and various other small watercourses.
