A little history

Lizerolles is a hamlet situated on the road to Chauny that was annexed to Montescourt in the 19th century. Coming from Saint-Quentin along the RD 1, a monument dominates the surrounding plain. Associating "dans un pieux et égal hommage les Français et leurs adversaires", this structure commemorates the Bataille de Saint-Quentin (1557), also known as the Bataille de la Saint-Laurent. On 10 February 1917, the village population was evacuated and deported to Germany.
