Les Gets, the town
Les Gets covers 30 km², lies between 900 and 1,820 m above sea level and had 1,227 inhabitants in the 2023 census. Its inhabitants are called the Gétois.
Les Gets ([le ʒɛ]) is a French commune situated in the département of Haute-Savoie, in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The commune has been awarded the label of "commune touristique" owing in particular to the presence of a winter sports resort, linked to the large domain of the Portes du Soleil.
A little history
The valley of the Arve appears to have been inhabited, in its northern part, from the Neolithic period. The site appears to have been occupied before the 12th century. Maurice Bergoënd (1962) records a first mention towards the end of the 11th century. In a monograph on the commune, Maurice Bergoënd (1962) notes that some assert that the first inhabitants of Les Gets were Jewish, with the historian and geographer Paul Guichonnet adding that they may have believed that the name Les Gets derived from Les Juifs.

Selling in Les Gets
Pricing in Les Gets starts by placing your property inside the €5,851 to €8,400 band rather than on the median alone. The median describes the middle of the market; condition, floor, outdoor space and energy rating decide where in the band you sit.
With 130 sales a year, Les Gets is regular without being deep. Positioning matters more here than in a dense market, because a buyer who steps back is not immediately replaced.
Briveo values your Les Gets property from the same DVF file, keeping only sales of comparable properties closest to your address, free of charge and with no obligation, then supports the sale through to the deed.
Buying in Les Gets
Reading the €5,851 to €8,400 band is a buyer’s main tool in Les Gets. A property at the bottom is not a bargain and one at the top is not a rip-off, the band measures how different the properties are, not how well they are priced.
Prices moving down give a buyer room to discuss, provided the argument rests on comparable sales rather than on the trend itself.
Acquisition costs are budgeted on top of the price, around 8 % on an existing property, around 3 % on a new one. These are orders of magnitude; the notary computes the exact amount.

Start with BriveoHow the Les Gets market is moving
Over the last twelve published months the median apartment price moved by -6.7 %. A drop of that size deserves the same caution as a rise, since it may come from the mix of properties sold rather than from a fall in value.
No five-year reading is available for Les Gets. The apartment sales we currently use (2023 à 2025) do not go back far enough to compute one, so the long-term direction cannot be stated here.
Among the towns tracked by BRIVEO in the same department, on the median apartment price, Annemasse sits 51 % below and Chamonix-Mont-Blanc 33 % above. Those are the gaps a buyer widening their search area actually meets.
