A little history
The first trace of occupation at the lieu-dit Lubié or Lubillet predates by several centuries the permanent establishment of the ancient Lipidiacus (La Palisse), on the banks of the river Besbre. At Lubié there is a Gallo-Roman pottery workshop. The style of BANUUS III is one of the most characteristic creations of this workshop. The site of Chez-Duret, to the south-west of the commune, was the subject in 1996 of a preventive excavation carried out as part of the road bypass development along the route nationale 7.
