A little history
It was at the presbytery of Homblières that the German delegation, which had come to negotiate the armistice, was received on 7 November 1918 by French officers, having made contact with the French lines at La Capelle at the locality known as la Pierre d Haudroy. This crossing point had been communicated to the German authorities following their request to open negotiations. The delegation was then conveyed by car to Tergnier, where a special train awaited them, which brought them to the place now known as the clairière de Rethondes in the forêt de Compiègne, where the negotiation and signing of the armistice took place on 11 November.
