Carte de Cassini On the Carte de Cassini, dating from the 18th century, Fresnoy is a parish that is not crossed by any metalled road. Three wooden windmills existed on the land, one of them near the hamlet of Beaurouart, which was written Biaurevart in 1202 in a cartulary of the Abbaye de Fervaques. This place is today a farm called Beauregard. 19th century The village experienced strong economic expansion from the middle of the 19th century, thanks to the opening by the Compagnie des chemins de fer du Nord, in 1855, of the Saint-Quentin to Jeumont section of the ligne de Creil à Jeumont.
