A little history
After the defeat of Vercingétorix, Rome sent settlers to clear vast areas of land in the Laonnois. Agrippa, lieutenant of the victorious Caesar, opened roads that Queen Brunehaut restored six hundred years later. The first inhabitants of Folembray (Follembrayum, wooded marsh) were therefore the Roman slaves employed in the construction of this route. A glassworks was founded there in 1706.
