A little history
Faram (Fère-en-Tardenois) and Crusciniacum (Cruny or Crugny), cited by the chronicler Flodoard, are two localities of the Tardenois, that is to say the ancient pagus tardinisus on the territory of the Gallo-Roman heirs of the Belgian Suessions. The abbess Geneviève is said to have graciously received them from Clovis, king of the Franks, so that she could rest there with her retinue during the long and frequent pilgrimages from Paris to Reims, whilst bishop Rémi is said to have recovered them and kept them as ecclesiastical property, entrusting them to his beloved church of Reims by testament.
