A little history
According to Louis-Paul Colliette (see bibliographical note) a charter of 1124 sent to the town of Noyons by Monseigneur Simon, son of Hughes de France and comte de Vermandois, commended his mother to the canons of Saint-Quentin just as she herself had commended her husband. Simon gave them, as bishop of Noyons, the altar of Saint Cyr and Sainte Julitte d'Estreillers, villages two lieux distant from the Auguste de Vermandois. He added to this gift that of other considerable possessions. These canons were required, in gratitude, to pray to the Lord for the repose of the soul of the donor after his death and for that of his mother, the comtesse Adèle.
