A little history
In the hamlet of la Gambade, opposite Toizelay, to the south of the route de Tours and to the east of the GR, a menhir was erected. It constitutes the oldest trace of human presence at Châtillon. A Gaulish chariot tomb dating from the Augustan period (end of the 1st century BC) was uncovered in the neighbouring locality of Fléré-la-Rivière.
