A little history
Traces of Gallo-Roman dwellings were discovered at the localities known as Colombier, Moulin-Bayeux, la Vallée-Guyot and Bois de la Planquette. In 1859, at the locality known as le Trésor, a cremation necropolis was uncovered along with a lead urn decorated with a chariot driven by its auriga, glass vessels and other items. The lordship passed through the hands of the d'Avesnes, the Châtillon-Blois-Saint-Pol, the Luxembourg-Saint-Pol (see Marie), the Bourbon-Vendôme, before being united with the royal domain by Henri IV, then transmitted to the Montluc-Balagny and the Mailly-Nesle.
