Ardillières est une commune du Sud-Ouest de la France située dans le département de la Charente-Maritime, en région Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Petite commune résidentielle établie au cœur de la plaine d’Aunis, elle se situe dans la sphère d’influence des deux grandes agglomérations du nord-ouest du département, Rochefort et La Rochelle, et connaît de ce fait une croissance démographique relativement soutenue du fait du phénomène de rurbanisation. Conservant cependant un aspect essentiellement rural, la commune est relativement proche de petites villes-relais telles que Surgères, Aigrefeuille-d’Aunis et Châtelaillon-Plage, qui concentrent commerces et services.
