A little history
The etymology of Vic is the Latin name Vicum, a village, a Roman administrative division with no status. Before 1790, the name Vic et Maureillan is found. On 9 June 1885, Vic took the name of Vic-les-Étangs because there were many ponds. The current name dates from 12 March 1914.
