A little history
Created by a prefectural order of 1 December 2015 taking effect on 1 January 2016, the new commune of Verrières-en-Anjou resulted from the grouping together of the two neighbouring communes of Pellouailles-les-Vignes and Saint-Sylvain-d'Anjou, which became delegated communes. Its chief town is at Saint-Sylvain-d'Anjou. For the history prior to 2016, reference should be made to the articles devoted to the former merged communes.
