A little history
On 30 November 1710, Roland Blondel, seigneur d'Aubers, purchased half of the land of Vendin-le-Vieil. His grandson, Eugène-Roland-Joseph Blondel d'Aubers, first president of the Parlement de Flandres, purchased the other half in 1759 along with the seigneurial title. The seigneury consisted of a château with a garden, a kitchen garden, and around one hundred mesures (approximately 45 hectares of land), as well as rents.
