A little history
The decree of the Assemblée Nationale of 12 November 1789 decreed that there would be a municipality in every town, borough, parish or rural community. This decree did not yet create the communes, but the municipalities, reflecting and sustaining a confusion between the institution and the territory, and opening the door to a considerable number of municipalities. In 1790, as part of the creation of the départements, the Loiret counted 367 municipalities, attached to 59 cantons and 7 districts. The municipality of Trainou was attached to the canton of Rébréchien and to the district of Neuville.
