Tiercé is a French commune situated in the département of Maine-et-Loire, in the Pays de la Loire region. Located in the region of the Basses vallées angevines, between the Sarthe and the Loir, Tiercé is the administrative and commercial centre of the region.
A little history
A parish and a priory were established in the 13th century, the latter being dependent on the abbaye de Toussaint d'Angers. The barons de Briollay enjoyed seigneurial honours in the church, for their land of la Motte en Tiercé. In 1497 an earthquake occurred, which destroyed the steeple of the former church. It was rebuilt in 1537 by Jean de l'Espine.
