A little history
The new commune of Sèvremoine was born on 15 December 2015 from the merger of the ten communes of the communauté de communes de Moine et Sèvre, namely Le Longeron, Montfaucon-Montigné, La Renaudière, Roussay, Saint-André-de-la-Marche, Saint-Crespin-sur-Moine, Saint-Germain-sur-Moine, Saint-Macaire-en-Mauges, Tillières and Torfou, whose creation was made official by prefectoral order on 5 October 2015. Its chief town is at Saint-Macaire-en-Mauges. The merged communes became déléguées communes. For the history prior to 2015, one should refer to the articles devoted to the former merged communes.
