A little history
A Roman road coming from Kérilien (Vorganium) and passing through Lesneven and Saint-Renan led to Portus Salionicus (cited by Ptolémée). Other branches of this Roman road, which subdivided from Saint-Renan, led one to Ploumoguer and Porsmoguer, and others to the peninsula of Kermorvan and to the pointe Saint-Mathieu. Saint-Renan is a parish that arose from the division of the parish of Plouzané. Whilst Brest was still only a small village, the town of Saint-Renan developed throughout the Middle Ages.
