A little history
There are few traces of occupation of the site of Quimper in the Neolithic period. The artisanal settlement of Kergolvez at Quimper was established among the Osismes and the oppidum de Moulay, which probably held the status of territorial chief town of the Aulerques Diablintes. The discovery in 2003 of a Gaulish settlement with an estimated area of more than ten hectares straddling the Steïr to the north, near the village of Kergolvez, brought confirmation of a significant population of the area from before the Roman conquest, as the datings range from the 2nd century BC or the 1st century BC.
