A little history

The territory of Saint-Nicolas-du-Pélem was inhabited as early as Prehistory. Research by François Le Provost, Pierre-Roland Giot and Yvan Onnée brought to light, on the hill of Colledic, potsherds of decorated red pottery dating from the Hallstatt and La Tène civilisations (the first and second Iron Ages), between 900 and 100 BC. At Bothoa-Kerody, an enclosure dating back to the Bronze Age or the Iron Age was uncovered. At Cotterio, an enclosure from the Bronze Age or the Iron Age was found. Tiles, polished axes, worked flints and arrowheads were also discovered.
