A little history
The history of the town begins at the end of the 11th century, when the monks of the abbaye Sainte-Geneviève in Paris decided to establish, on the banks of the ru de Gally, a chapel and a priory with its farm, in order to evangelise and clear the Val. Robert III, bishop of Chartres, founded the monastère de Notre-Dame-des-Anges near the église de Saint-Cyr in 1156. From 1562 to 1598, the Wars of Religion ravaged what is now Île-de-France. A chapel in the Gothic style was built around 1650, along with an entrance gate to the abbey decorated with the arms of France, supported by two angels.
