A little history
The current commune of Rambouillet is crossed by the Beauvais-Orléans road. Seven ancient occupation sites (1st and 3rd centuries) have been identified on the territory of the commune. The first mention of the existence of Rambouillet is in September 768. It appears in the donation of the "forêt Yveline" made by Pépin le Bref to the abbaye de Saint-Denis, where he died.
