Montigny-le-Bretonneux is a French commune situated to the south-west of Paris, not far from Versailles, in the département des Yvelines. It is the chief town of its canton as well as the economic, commercial, cultural and university heart of the communauté d'agglomération de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. The north of the town, centred around the gare de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, forms the hypercentre of the Saint-Quentin conurbation as well as the western wing of the technopole de Paris-Saclay.
A little history
Originally, the territory corresponding to the present-day commune of Montigny-le-Bretonneux was entirely covered by the Forêt de l'Yveline, which stretched from the Seine to the west of Paris as far as the Loire around Orléans. From the 11th century onwards, extensive land clearances were carried out by monastic orders and great lords, and villages came into being. The first mention of a village on the territory of Montigny dates back to 1204, when a cartulary containing the transcription of property deeds of the Catholic Church refers to the village of Montegni or Montani, built around a church dedicated to Saint-Martin.

Prices moving down give a buyer room to discuss, provided the argument rests on comparable sales rather than on the trend itself.
Acquisition costs are budgeted on top of the price, around 8 % on an existing property, around 3 % on a new one. These are orders of magnitude; the notary computes the exact amount.
