A little history
The commune of Ploufragan contains several megalithic monuments which indicate occupation from Prehistory, at least since the Neolithic. A wealthy villa belonging to a Roman citizen of Gaulish origin, close to Corseuil as well as Gouarec, was discovered in the commune. Within the excavation area, the earliest traces of human settlement date back to the ancient Gaulish period. They consist of a ditched enclosure and several pits which correspond to the remains of an initial dwelling built from perishable materials (wood and earth).
