A little history
The menhir de Kerloas, also known as the menhir de Kervéatoux, standing 9.50 metres tall, is the tallest menhir currently standing in the world. Paul Buessard described the superstitious practices relating to this menhir, which were still in use during the course of the 19th century. The discovery of a granite chest that may have served as a burial for a hunting dog allows us to imagine the presence of an ancient occupation from the Gaulish period, continuing after the Roman conquest.
