A little history
Occupation is attested as far back as Prehistory (the Neolithic), as shown by the menhir de Pierre-Folle as well as bracelets and axes from the Bronze Age found during archaeological digs. In the Gallo-Roman period, the Roman road running from Vannes (Dorioritum) to Nantes (Condevincum) via Blain passes through the territory of the commune of Plessé. During the early Middle Ages, Breton populations settled in the territory of Plessé and left a lasting mark on local place names. Jean-Yves Le Moing estimates that approximately 24% of the place names of Plessé are of Breton origin.
