Plérin [pleʁɛ̃], also known locally as Plérin-sur-Mer, is a French commune situated near Saint-Brieuc in the département of Côtes-d'Armor, in the region of Bretagne.
A little history
The site has been frequented since the Neolithic period. A Gallo-Roman building was unearthed near the centre Hélio-marin, and there was a strong Roman presence in the Saint-Brieuc area. Indeed, as early as 1852, archaeologists discovered a Roman villa beneath two houses built near the beach. The town was connected to a Roman road that extended as far as Gouarec. The Gaulish elites, later Roman citizens, of the town built holiday residences equipped with a private bathing area. They were situated near the capital, which was Corseul.
