A little history
Lec'hs mark the first settlement sites across the whole territory of the Vénètes, notably in clearings or at elevated positions, for example in the Landes de Lanvaux. The location of Peillac lies to the north-east of this Vénète territory, between the Oust and the Arz. In the Gallo-Roman period, a group of Gaulish dwellings and a Gallo-Roman villa formed a small settlement. This was situated close to springs, and above all between two fords on a Roman road linking two towns.
