Guidel [ɡidɛl] is a French commune, situated in the département of Morbihan (région Bretagne), on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, bordered to the west by the Laïta which marks the boundary with Finistère. A little history
Several menhirs and dolmens were recorded in 1863 on the territory of Guidel, a menhir 5 metres tall near the chapelle Saint-Fiacre (which the devil himself is said to have planted, according to legend), another, also 5 m in height, near the moulin de la Saudraye, one 4.5 m tall situated 300 metres to the north-east of the bourg, a dolmen at Palméro (according to local peasants, the poulpiquets would come there to dance their rounds at night), further dolmens at Cautus and near Kerhouard, and a lec'h on the edge of the road running from Guidel to Saint-Maurice de Carnoët.
