Noyers-sur-Cher is a French commune situated in the département of Loir-et-Cher, in the région of Centre-Val de Loire. Located in the south of the département, the commune forms part of the small agricultural region known as the Plateaux bocagers de la Touraine méridionale, which brings together very heterogeneous environments, the bare plateau of Pontlevoy, the valley of the Cher bordered by hillsides of vines, and aspects of gatine beyond. Land use is characterised by the importance of agricultural and natural spaces, which occupy almost the entirety of the communal territory.
A little history
The decree of the Assemblée nationale of 12 November 1789 decreed that there would be a municipality in every town, borough, parish or rural community, but it was only with the decree of the Convention nationale of 10 brumaire an II (31 October 1793) that the parish of Noyers-sur-Cher formally became the commune of Noyers-sur-Cher. In 1790, as part of the creation of the départements, the municipality was attached to the canton of Saint Aignan and to the district of Saint Aignan.
