Noyant-Villages [nwajɑ̃ vilaʒ] has been, since 15 December 2016, a new French commune situated in the département of Maine-et-Loire, in the région of Pays de la Loire. It was created from the merger of the former communes of Auverse, Breil, Broc, Chalonnes-sous-le-Lude, Chavaignes, Chigné, Dénezé-sous-le-Lude, Genneteil, Lasse, Linières-Bouton, Meigné-le-Vicomte, Noyant, Méon and Parçay-les-Pins.
A little history
The new commune was created by prefectoral order on 7 December 2016 through the grouping together, on 15 December of that same year, of fourteen communes from the former communauté de communes du canton de Noyant, namely Auverse, Breil, Broc, Chalonnes-sous-le-Lude, Chavaignes, Chigné, Dénezé-sous-le-Lude, Genneteil, Lasse, Linières-Bouton, Meigné-le-Vicomte, Méon, Noyant and Parçay-les-Pins, which became délégué communes. The chef-lieu is located at Noyant. The commune of La Pellerine did not join the new commune and forms an enclave within it.
