A little history
Between the 2nd and 1st centuries BC, a Gallo-Roman village was built on the site of the present-day faubourg Saint-Georges, as evidenced by the traces of a Gallo-Roman villa discovered in 2005. The construction of a causeway by the Bishop of Nantes Saint Félix in the 6th century caused the flooding of the marshes of the Erdre, thus making navigation on the river possible as far as Nort. The commune developed primarily thanks to its commercial activity.
