A little history
The history of Mouvaux begins in the 12th century. In 1167, the name of Mouvaux (Mouvaulx) appears for the first time in archives, those of the Evêché de Tournai. These records tell us that the canons of the cathedral chapter held a fief here, which is confirmed by a further mention dated 1190. Mouvaux was therefore already an established settlement integrated into the feudal system.
