A little history
Charlemagne ceded Montigny to the abbaye de Saint-Denis, which retained ownership until the Revolution. Montigny was a source of inspiration for certain painters, for example Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, who painted the auberge Corot (today a space intended to host exhibitions) situated on the place de l'église, and also Maurice Utrillo. In 1922, the commune of Beauchamp was created by the detachment of parts of the territories of Pierrelaye, Taverny and Montigny-lès-Cormeilles. A spring was operated under a lease arrangement until 1993 in the village itself, with bottling and commercialisation of the product.
