A little history
The site of Bois Clair, to the south-east of Montguyon, has yielded several levels of recurring Palaeolithic occupation from the Mousterian through to the Late Glacial period. In 1380, in the context of the Hundred Years' War, Louis de Sancerre laid siege to the town. Jean II Le Meingre, known as Boucicaut, took part in this action.
