A little history
Even though certain prehistoric monuments mentioned by J.-M. Bachelot in 1847 or described by Émile Cartailhac in 1875 have disappeared, several remain. Three allées couvertes, two dolmens and six menhirs are officially recorded and listed as monuments historiques on the territory of the commune. Bronze objects, including 21 socketed axes, dating from the Bronze Age were discovered on 18 January 1911 at Mescléo on a piece of land being cleared. Others had been found in 1902 in other parts of the commune, and previously in 1888, around twenty bronze bracelets had been discovered at Kerroux.
