A little history
Flint tools dating from the 4th millennium BC have been found on the territory of the commune. Several archaeological excavation campaigns have uncovered a substantial collection of artefacts (pottery, unfired clay tiles, tools and jewellery, calcined bones, etc.), evidence of significant occupation of the site at the beginning of our era with the establishment of a villa (agricultural holding) at the lieu-dit le Marais de Bray. This Gallo-Roman farm is thought to have been destroyed in a fire in the second half of the 3rd century.
