A little history
The colline Saint-Sébastien, formerly situated in the Franc-Lyonnais, was incorporated into the city of Lyon in 1512, the date at which Louis XII decided on the construction of fortifications at the top of the slopes to defend the city of Lyon. The 1st arrondissement is one of the five created on 24 March 1852 by presidential decree.
