A little history
A promontory fort known as Ar-Chastel, protected by a wide and deep ditch, is found at the pointe Saint-Jean, in Logonna-Daoulas. Logonna-Daoulas, a former priory-cure of the abbaye Notre-Dame-de-Daoulas, having as its titular a canon of the said abbey, formed part of the parish of Irvillac in the 13th century. Legend has it that saint Monna, coming from Ireland in the 5th century, landed in the commune with his stone craft, which is said to be visible in the village of Porsisquin. He set about building in an elevated spot a church from which he could catch sight of that of his sister, sainte Nonne, at Dirinon.
